Post Manchester BCLA Conference 2011 Report
The last weekend in May saw the BCLA hold it's annual Clinical Conference and Exhibition in Central Manchester. As always DTCL/Menicon were proud to support the event and take part in the exhibition. As well as using the conference to announce and celebrate the 60th anniversary of Menicon Japan, it proved an ideal platform to launch the latest new addition to the Rose K range of lenses. Dr. Paul Rose, designer of the Rose K range of lenses chose the conference for the globl launch of the Rose K2 NC Nipple Cone design for keratoconus.

The DTCL/Menicon booth proved to be a popular stopping point for many delegates wanting to find more information about the new Rose K2 NC design and also sharing a glass of champagne to toast the past sixty years that Menicon has enjoyed manufacturing contact lenses. With a relaxed and comfortable environment to talk business, the company was able to speak with UK customers and distributors from around the world.
DTCL Sales Director, Graham Avery, commented, 'This year's BCLA was very good for us. We had a new booth design that was light, airy and had a Japanese feel to it and the venue was more appealing. I think this coupled with the fact that we are now representing Menicon as well as DTCL for the first time really helped us push the message that Menicon now has a strong presence in the UK market. Menicon has a strong and proud history in contact lenses and this was recorded in a booklet available to delegates, "The Man Who Invented the Japanes Contact Lens", the challenges of Kyoichi Tanaka, the founder chairman of Menicon Japan'.
