The roar of Independents in Birmingham
Independent practitioners from across the UK sped to the National Motorcycle Museum just outside Birmingham on 6 July, although not too many came in their leathers!
No this was not a bikers meeting of optical chapters, but the annual syposium where 150 plus independent practice owners, optometrists and opticians gather to brush up on clinical and commercial aspects of optometry and get a chance to talk to forty or so companies from the industry.

David Thomas Contact Lenses were delighted to exhibit at this year's event which attracted 174 practitioners. In between delegates taking in lectures by keynote speakers, there was a large industry presence in the exhibition hall where delegates had refreshments and lunch. The event organised by Proven Track Record proved to be one of the best yet and was fully endorsed by all who attended. Graham Avery of DTCL commented, "We were pleased to be part of the day and with the interest in our products shown by the delegates. We will definitely attend next year and I highly recommend the event to all independent opticians".
